How to find the cheapest cruise

Have you ever seen those gigantic, luxury awsome ships they call cruise ships and thought “well maybe if i win the lottery someday i might just book one”. To be honest, i always thought cruises were for really wealthy people and some types really are. So last week i saw a documentary about cruise ships and it caught my attention again so i went onto the internet to see if i could find something about reasonable affordable cruises.

Well now of course you might begin to think that i am about to come up with a list of cruises that everyone can afford and the seas will become very crowded this summer. About the crowded seas i don’t know, it might be true, but i don’t have a list for the cheapest cruise. On the other hand, not exactly that is, what i did find was a product that can get you your cheapest cruise.

The product i am talking about is Cruise tips, insider secrets.

Now this product was created by 2 people that made a lot cruises in their life and by doing so learned how you can find the cheapest cruise. Not only do they tell you how to find these deals, they also have tips for you to make your time on the boat as cheap as possible. Now i don’t have any experience with cruises, and i am not the only one, so they also included a checklist for first timers.

The info that you get is just to much to write down here, tips on finding the best and cheapest cruise travel agents, best seasons to go where, how to get the best cabins for the best prices and of course the common mistakes people make when booking a cruise.

So, if you want to spend your holiday on a cruise this year, this would be something that can save you a lot of money.

Find your cheapest cruise deal with cruise tips, insider secrets.

Ridiculous VS Good Travel Ideas

I can’t help but watch some of things people do while traveling. Go into an airport and it’s like a free-for-all when it comes to comfort. I’m not a fan of snuggies – maybe you are – but you have to admit they look ridiculous. I bet they were invented by someone sitting in an Airport. For that reason, I’m going to have a little fun today.
I’d like to share my list of most ridiculous vs truly good travel product ideas.

1. First on my list: Skyrest Travel Pillow. My vote? Ridiculous. Have you ever tried flying in a plane next to a passenger using one of these monstrosities? It’s like bunching up a small child in a snow suit and using him as your own personal headrest. Just weird. Maybe you use one of these things and it’s wonderful. I don’t know, I can’t get up the guts to buy one.

2. Second is my list: The TravelRest Travel Pillow. My vote? Good idea. If you want a way to catch some Zzz’s while flying this would be the way to do it. It not only avoids making you carry a huge item like the pillow above (this thing is small), but it actually works according to the reviews! It also stops you from leaning over on your neighbor, slobbering on his or her shirt… which could be quite awkward! For the price this thing is brilliant, if you want to sleep on a plane.

3. Third on my list: These NO JET-LAG Tablets. My vote? Ridiculous, mostly. I can’t say these are totally ridiculous ’cause if you have jet-lag something like this would be nice. And according to the reviews they seem to work. Nice! But I couldn’t help but notice one thing in their disclaimer: “on occasion manufacturers may alter their ingredient lists. Actual product … materials may contain more and/or different information than that shown on our Web site. We recommend that you do not solely rely on the information presented.” So let me get this straight, you want me to take some pills where the ingredients may be in question? Can anyone say “fail”?

4. Fourth and final item on my list: The book “Where To Go When.” My vote? Good idea! A great book for anyone interested in either traveling or world cultures. It suggests the best times to go to different parts of the world. For instance, “Tuscany, Italy, is recommended for October, when the grape and olive harvests take place, and when porcini mushrooms, prized truffles and other specialties appear on regional menus.” Wow, what a great idea! And the reviews are top-notch.

Cheap Airfare

I got some interesting news today about a product called Fly Cheap! Apparently, a former Airline executive got tired of working for the airlines and went out on his own telling people how to get great prices. For instance, one customer claims that he was about to spend $2,000 on a flight to Australia and this program ended up saving him over $500… I suppose you could say that Fly Cheap! was definitely worth the $27!

There are a number of ways to get free flights, and we’ll explore some of those in the weeks to come. For now, check out the Fly Cheap! e-book and start saving some money!.

Disney Deals

You’ll think I’m crazy but right now you can get a day at Disney for free. See, this blog is already paying off!

Disney’s latest promotion is called “Give a Day. Get a Disney Day.” Basically, if you volunteer to sign up to volunteer in a needed community Disney is willing to give you a day pass to Disneyland Resort or Wal Disney World Resort for free!

The best part is, if your whole family volunteers your whole family gets in for free. They put it this way: “Disney is working with HandsOn Network to bring you amazing volunteer opportunities to which you can lend your much-needed services. As a way of thanking you for your good work, we’ll give you a free ticket good for one day admission to a Walt Disney World® or Disneyland® theme park. ”

Volunteer opportunities are plentiful including ideas that are good for families and children. There are different opportunities available on different days so simply check back on the Disney site (link above) until you find something you like!

What makes a golf trip better than a golf trip? A golf trip that costs less than you expected!

There are literally hundreds, perhaps thousands, of difference choices for golf-lovers out there. The really good news is that many of these places have resorts and tourist packages that make it attractive for the family members who aren’t exactly golf-friendly. Whether it is the Caribbean, Asia, or closer to home like Colorado there are plenty of golf resorts looking to attract seasoned players who don’t want to spend a fortune.

Consider checking out California. Many golf resorts there are currently struggling because of the recession which has been particularly bad in California. For this reason a package that previously cost $2,000 might be as little as $900! Some of these resorts include spas, massages, and other outdoor events.

Run a Google search on “Avila Bay Golf Resort” or “The Arnold Palmer 18.” Orange County alone has around 25 country clubs with beautiful courses just begging to played on.

You want a good Hotel rate, but aren’t exactly the confrontational type. The first method we discussed might not work well for you… especially when the blood pressure goes up and you get nervous. I understand, the first time I tried to get a deal using that method I nearly offered them more than they were asking! Not exactly “a deal.”

Don’t fret – there are ways for you to find good deals. There are really good products like “Travel Cheap” that demonstrate how to get great deals. Some places promise to teach how to get rates that are only accessible to Travel Agents. Definitely check out those resources. While you do that check out our easy, common sense tips:

Determine the exact dates you need trying to plan for midweek hotel stays. The middle of the week is the best time to get good rates since most travelers have already purchased a room or simply don’t need a room.

Find the off-peak seasons for the area you’d like to travel to. For instance, if you want go to Branson, Missouri go in the Spring! The weather is beautiful but the crowds go in the late summer. Therefore, rates on everything will be much cheaper during Springtime.

Always check sites like Expedia, Hotels.com, and Travelocity. They get pretty good deals – but never take the first good deal you see. Research is the key.

Run a Google search for “special hotel rates” and mention the name of the city.

Call the Chamber of Commerce in the city you plan on going to and ask if they have any special rates for hotel stays in there city. This is especially a good idea if you are staying in a metropolitan area – you can call some of the suburbs (they often have nicer hotels) who would love to get the business instead of letting the big city take it all.

You want a nice hotel room, and you want it cheap. Two opposite ideas? Not really. The most important thing to remember when finding hotel rooms is this: an empty room means loss of profit to a hotel owner.

When a room is empty, the hotel owner still has to pay to heat/cool it. Still has to pay for the maid to be at the Hotel for eight hours. The owner’s expenses stay almost the same whether the room is empty or full. For this reason, you can get a hotel room cheap if you are able to play the game.

We’ll hopefully go over some less intense methods later, but for now remember that you can walk away and if you do the Hotel loses. They need you to stay in their room more than you need the room.

I visited a city where I needed hotel. I stopped in a nice place and said, “I checked with the <other hotel> down the street… they were $48 a night. I’d rather stay here, ’cause I like your place but honestly I can’t justify it if you can’t get me close to that rate.” Then I shut up. Didn’t say another word for about five minutes, while the attendant talk and talked. At first, they said, my idea was ridiculous. Then they admitted the other hotel was cheaper… $100/night is expensive. Pretty soon they told me, “I do have better rates… $70/night.” … keep waiting. Pretty soon the attendant is desparetly doing anything she could to find better rates because my silence told her she was losing. How fun!If you can wait until the day you need the room simply show up and follow these steps:

  1. Check the local rates for hotels that are acceptable, but definately cheaper than where you want to stay.
  2. Ask for the best rate possible explaining the other Hotel’s price but that “I prefer to stay here, but I can’t justify the price when there is a Hotel right there for cheaper.”
  3. Be quiet.
  4. Listen… but stay quiet.
  5. If they aren’t budging at all, take a step away from the desk and say, “Well, I wish I could but… actually, can you check one more time see if there is any way to do $XX/night? Maybe call the manager, ’cause you are doing great, but I know they can fudge the price a little more.”
  6. Be quiet
  7. Wait
  8. Be willing to walk away

That’s it. Follow those eight simple steps and 90% of the time you’ll get a better rate than you could’ve online!
