Snorkel Paradise Catalina Island Snorkeling

Tour overview
Ask any experienced snorkeler in the Dominican Republic where to go and they will say Catalina Island. Specifically, The Wall — a dramatic reef formation where the coral drops from shallow turquoise water into a deep blue canyon, creating a snorkeling experience unlike anywhere else on the island. If you only snorkel once in Punta Cana, this is where you do it.
What happens on this tour
The Wall is a dramatic reef formation along the northern coast of Catalina Island where the shallow reef drops sharply into deep water. The visibility regularly exceeds 20 meters, the coral formations are extraordinary at multiple depths, and the marine life — sea turtles, eagle rays, schools of tropical fish — is consistently present. Your guide takes the group to the best spots along the edge.
After snorkeling, free time on Catalina's pristine white beach allows you to swim, relax, and enjoy the surroundings. Lunch is served beachside. The afternoon is yours to use as you like — the beach is beautiful, the water is calm, and the catamaran return to RÃo Salado Pier arrives in the mid-afternoon.

FAQs
Q: Is The Wall suitable for beginner snorkelers? A: Yes. The snorkeling can be enjoyed entirely from the surface — you don't need to duck-dive to experience the reef. The shallow upper portion is ideal for beginners, while the drop-off adds drama for more experienced snorkelers. Your guide adapts the session to the group. Q: Are sea turtles common at Catalina Island? A: Sea turtle sightings at The Wall are relatively common, particularly in the morning. While sightings cannot be guaranteed, Catalina Island is one of the best places in the Dominican Republic to encounter sea turtles in the wild. Q: What equipment is provided? A: Full snorkeling gear — mask, snorkel, and fins — is included. Life vests are available for all participants. If you prefer to bring your own prescription mask or personal equipment, you are welcome to do so. Q: How long is the actual snorkeling session? A: The guided snorkeling session lasts approximately 45-60 minutes. After the session, you have free time in the water or on the beach for 2-3 additional hours at the island.
