Miches faces the Bay of Samaná on the north side of the eastern tip, an hour and a half from Punta Cana over a road that only opened up the area recently. Montaña Redonda and the dunes above Playa Esmeralda are what people come for.
This is the least developed stretch of coast we visit, and it shows: wide empty beaches, no vendors, and a view from the top of Montaña Redonda over the lagoon and the bay. Go in the morning for the clearest light.
