Some golf courses are beautiful. Corales is something else entirely. Designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 2010, this exclusive 18-hole par-72 championship layout is carved into one of the most dramatic stretches of Caribbean coastline anywhere in the world — and it's the only official PGA Tour venue in the Dominican Republic.
Coral cliffs, ocean coves, inland lagoons, tropical jungle and coralina quarries frame every hole. Six holes play directly along the Caribbean Sea. The course rating is 76.9 with a slope of 140 from the championship tees — one of the most demanding venues in the region. And then there's The Devil's Elbow: the legendary closing three holes that have ended dreams and created champions on the PGA Tour since 2018. When you play Corales, you play the same course the pros do.
What happens on this tour
Private transfer from your hotel to Puntacana Resort & Club. On arrival, check in at the Golf Shop and warm up at the driving range. Your caddie — mandatory, one per cart — meets you before the round. Yardage booklet, towels, tees and ice water are in the cart.
You play 18 holes in 4 hours on a PGA Tour championship course. The GPS cart and your caddie guide you through a layout that alternates between dramatic oceanside cliffs, jungle corridors and turquoise lagoons. At the 10th tee, a cold apple is waiting. The beverage cart comes by throughout the round.
After the 18th hole — the famous U-shaped par-4 forced carry over the Bay of Corales — scented iced towels and a glass of champagne with snacks greet you at the finish. The Oscar de la Renta clubhouse terrace overlooking Corales Bay is the perfect place to let it all sink in.

Is Corales open to the public? Yes, with restrictions. Visitor tee times are available from 10:30 AM onward — earlier times are reserved for members. Access is limited and high season books up quickly. We recommend booking as early as possible. Why is there a caddie at Corales? Caddies are mandatory for all visitors at Corales. They carry your bag, read greens, provide yardage and help you navigate one of the most complex and rewarding courses in the Caribbean. Gratuity of $25 USD minimum per player is customary and paid directly at the course. What makes Corales different from the other courses in Punta Cana? Corales is in a category of its own. El Codo del Diablo — The Devil's Elbow — refers to holes 16, 17 and 18, the legendary closing stretch at Corales. Hole 17 runs along the edge of a cliff face. The 18th is a U-shaped par-4 requiring a forced carry over the cliff-lined Bay of Corales with the Caribbean on three sides. It's one of the most photographed finishing holes in all of golf. Will the course be closed during the PGA Tour event? The Corales Puntacana Championship typically takes place in early spring. During tournament week the course is closed to visitors.
